We are a leading Global Law firm that established a dedicated pro bono practice in Australia in 2024, with plans to expand the formal pro bono program globally.

Our commitment to pro bono work is integral to our firm's values and culture. By joining us, you will have the unique opportunity to shape an emerging practice and make a significant impact improving access to justice in our community.

You will have the opportunity to:

Shape an emerging practice: Be at the forefront of building and expanding our pro bono practice, with the opportunity to influence its direction and impact.
Global Reach: Work in a national role with opportunities for cross-border collaboration, contributing to a global Pro Bono and Community program.
Professional Growth: Gain valuable experience in pro bono work, enhance your legal skills, and develop your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Community Impact: Make a meaningful difference by addressing unmet legal needs and supporting the firm's ESG and CSR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the firm's pro bono strategy and support the firm's global ESG and CSR initiatives.
  • Utilize your experience in pro bono and law to work in partnership with Community Legal Centres and not-for-profit organisations to identify pro bono opportunities that address unmet legal needs across our Australian locations and internationally.
  • With the support of the Special Counsel – Pro Bono and Community, run your own pro bono files, assist lawyers in the firm's commercial pro bono practice groups on their pro bono matters, and help shape the firm's pro bono involvement into the future.
  • Engage in cross-border collaboration to deliver a global Pro Bono and Community program.
  • Participate in pro bono secondments with Community Legal Centres to address acute areas of unmet need.

The Successful Candidate

You will be a 2-5 year PAE Lawyer with experience working on pro bono matters in a Commercial Law firm, a Community Legal Centre, or driving pro bono initiatives as a significant component of your current role.

This role will be reasonably autonomous, so confidence in building and maintaining pro bono relationships with Clients, Referral Organisations, CLC Partners, and Internal Stakeholders will be essential.
